Prezentujemy cykl poświęcony naszym Wykładowcom - "Za kulisami UOUW". Wykładowcy uchylają rąbka tajemnicy o sobie, swoich pasjach i zajęciach, które prowadzą. Prezentujemy odpowiedzi przygotowane przez mgr Sarę del Rossi:

Professionally about me:

1. Why is it worth enrolling in your course?

When we talk about Italy and its culture it is very easy to fall into the trap of cultural stereotypes, does Volare oh oh tell you something? I think that the point of view and the contribution of a native speaker are fundamental to learn a language deeply, expecially the pronunciation, the intonation, the vocabulary and the registers of language, to avoid speaking "like a printed book" (as we say in Italian). The same can be said for culture and history, of course. Not only did I grow up in Italy, but I am constantly updated on what is happening in my native country through newspapers, but especially thanks to my friends and family!

2. How did your passion for teaching start?

It all started when I was in middle school. During the holidays I went to visit my sister in Rome. She took me with some friends to the National Museum where there were some of the statues I had just studied at history of art class. Without thinking about it I started to explain all the things I had learned in school and even though I was 12 years old some people older than me were listening to me. It was amazing (and the ice cream they gave me as a reward was amazing too!)

Informally about me:

3. If you weren’t a lecturer, who would you be?

Most likely I would own a literary bar or cafe, but very accessible and friendly, where I would organize cultural events (such as concerts, readings, conferences). I can't live without culture and I always need people around me to chat with!

4. The place where you can rest best?

Ah! at least once a year, when I return to Italy, I have to go to Rocca Calascio, a castle in the mountains of Abruzzo. To go there I choose the road that crosses Campo Imperatore, a valley surrounded by my beloved mountains. Alone or with friends, I have to go there! It is a magical place, it relaxes me a lot but at the same time it gives me all the energy I need to face a new year. For me the year begins in Rocca Calascio!

5. What do you value in relationships with other people?

Simplicity, naturalness and sincerity. I can't stand the social masks, the ostentation, the exaggerations typical of those who want to look better than they are. Everyone has flaws and limitations, the important thing is to be aware of them and always try to improve. Ah, of course, I value a lot the respect for others, without it it's simply impossible to go on!
